Starter model for the solar module production:
Single-opening Laminator e.a.sy-Lam
Robert Bürkle GmbH is very trendy with its Single-Opening Laminator. The photovoltaic industry counted with a world market volume of around 3,6 gigawatts by the end of 2008. The Bundesverband Solarwirtschaft in Berlin (German Association of the Solar Economy) balances a plus of 50 per cent compared to the previous year. The Freudenstadt plant manufacturer also benefits from this development on the solar markets. Since the market launch in spring 2008, Bürkle has sold ten single-opening laminators. "We already have several orders for 2009", says the managing director Hans-Joachim Bender. The presentation of the „e.a.sy-Lam“ on the photovoltaic congress in Valencia in 2008 has made the „e.a.sy-Lam“ a starter model for the solar module production. The machine capacity starts with 5 MWp and reaches up to 20 MWp. “Our customers often start with the single-opening variant. After a successful production start and with increasing orders, they adapt their capacities with another single-opening laminator and even with an Ypsator®", explains Bender.
As its big brother, the single-opening laminator is covered by yellow and grey panels. The relatedness to the multi-opening laminator Ypsator® that was awarded with many design awards can not be overlooked. The machines not only have optical, but also technological aspects in common: both lines can, for example, laminate crystalline, but also thin film modules. The low energy transfer into the product during the loading and especially in the evacuation phase are also obvious. The individual solar modules are thus constantly tempered which reduces the glass breakage considerably. This effect is reached as the modules and the heating platens do not touch each other during transport and evacuation.
A homogenous temperature distribution that is reached by the heating of the heating platens with thermal oil ensures an optimal process guiding.
Another advantage: In order to avoid standstill times, the membrane can be rapidly exchanged through a comfortable maintenance access. Since Bürkle has bundled its research and development activities in the new innovation center in Freudenstadt since November 2008, the customers can carry out tests with an Ypsator® there. The range of machines will be completed by an e.a.sy-Lam during this year.
After the market launch of the Ypsator® at the end of 2007, Bürkle has also developed a single-opening machine concept for the lamination of solar modules, the E.A.SY-LAM. Now two laboratory machines with a standard useful area of 1,0 x 1,7 m and 1,4 x 2,2 m and production machines with two variants having a useful area of 2,1 x 3,5 and 2,3 x 4,4 m are available.
